DIY

I have always been a firm believer in the fact that no matter what the budget, you can have the wedding of your dreams. You may have to cut corners, but there are always little projects that make your wedding unique. This biggest misconception when you hear DIY is that you have to be crafty to be able to make anything DIY. This is not the case. I am not craft at all! I want to share with you a few budgeting tips, and a few DIY projects that ANYONE can do!
First, keep in mind that wedding and reception decorations are all around you. Everywhere you turn there is an opportunity for some random object to make great decoration. It used to be that every single aspect of the wedding had to match perfectly. Now it is in style to have different style vases, candles, etc. This means you need to keep your eyes peeled. I am a serious bargain hunter. Whether it is a store closing sale, the dollar store, a yard sale, or thrift stores--I LOVE THEM! I was in good will this past week and there was an entire shelf and nice vases for a dollar a piece. Even the large ones!

Think of accent pieces that would make your event unique. Go out and hunt these objects down. You can even look on ebay and craigslist. Make a list of items that you would like to find, and spread the word with your bridesmaids and family members to keep their eyes open also. Don't forget to share with me the great pieces that you find!
